We will fly via United Airlines from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) to Palmerola International Airport in Comayagua, Honduras. We will be transported via ground transportation (bus) to the Hope For Honduras house in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

Yes, you will need a passport that does not expire within six months from the date of your return. There is no visa required; however, three days before the trip you will need to complete both the Honduras Immigration Pre-check and Customs Declaration online. Instructions for completing these documents online will be given closer to the departure date.

We partner with Hope for Honduras in Tegucigalpa. Our team will build a house for a family in need, help distribute food to residents of the surrounding community, and assist with English tutoring at Hope Academy.

The minimum age requirement is 18 by the date the trip leaves. A middle or high school student can join if a parent is traveling with the team.

Married couples can share a room, or several same-gender team members will share a room.

Breakfast and dinner will be served at the H4H house. Lunches will be packed for during the day. Please let us know of any dietary needs when prompted on the trip registration form.

No. An interpreter is available when needed. We also encourage you to download Google Translate to help with Spanish conversations. The school children need to hear English as well!

Recommendations can vary by doctor, but we generally suggest team members be up to date on their tetanus shot and receive the general hepatitis vaccine. Please consult your doctor or a travel clinic for guidance specific to your health history and this destination.

? The trip cost covers ground transportation, meals, and lodging, so any personal purchases (souvenirs, snacks, etc.) are separate. Bringing a modest amount of cash is recommended. Check with your trip leader for a specific suggested amount.

  • House construction: Our team will help build and paint a house for a family in need, typically over two to three days, and take part in the house dedication at the end of the week.
  • Food distribution: Our team will help bag and assemble food, then walk through the community personally distributing it to families in need.
  • English tutoring: Our team will help students at Hope Academy practice hearing and reading English. No teaching background required — just a willingness to spend time with the kids.
  • Playing in the streets: Each day wraps up with playtime with local kids near the Hope Center - a team favorite!

Pack comfortable, modest clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for construction work and outdoor activity. Bring an extra pair of shoes in case one pair gets wet or muddy. Men tend to wear nice shirts and pants for Sunday worship; women tend to wear nicer outfits as well.
