The Adults 55+ and Caring Ministry Coordinator serves as a key administrative and operational partner for the congregational care ministry of a large membership, multi-campus church, overseeing programs, staff, and volunteers within Pastoral Care, Prayer, and Adults 55+ Ministry. This role works in collaboration with central staff and in alignment with The Woodlands Methodist Church's mission to reach people for Jesus Christ, disciple them in faith, and help those in need.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Adults 55+ Ministry

  • Plan and execute Adults 55+ events, Lunch & Learns, Pastor-Led Series, and group activities; schedule rooms through FMX and support annual ministry planning.
  • Partner with the Adults 55+ Pastor on budgeting, monthly expenditures (Nexonia), and researching entertainment, events, and travel opportunities.
  • Lead birthday recognition across all campuses, including coordinating card design with Creative Services and managing monthly distribution in both English and Spanish.
  • Manage event registrations, monitor slides, bulletin copy, and communication requests; update connect blocks and website content.
  • Submit program information to Creative Services through Rock and maintain accurate group details (GROW cards).
  • Create and proof content for the Monthly Outlook and bi-monthly e-newsletter.
  • Support Caring and Adult Outreach by creating promotional materials and coordinating mailouts, flower deliveries, and 90+ Community Outreach activities with volunteers.

Caring Ministry

  • Create a culture where volunteers love to serve by recruiting, coaching, equipping, and empowering a full team of volunteer leaders for Caring Ministry.
  • Serve as a point of contact for care needs through phone, email, and text; schedule appointments and share information with pastors and the Caring Ministry team.
  • Provide care referrals to outside organizations, TWMC pastors, or counseling resources.
  • Manage care-related tracking in Rock, including hospitalizations, cancer, hospice, rehab, homebound visits, pastoral notes, and follow-up reminders.
  • Coordinate, schedule volunteers, and support all logistics for funerals, memorial services, and inurnments.
  • Work with families to gather information and prepare funeral bulletins.
  • Communicate service details with staff, Caring Ministry team members, pastoral care teams, and funeral homes.
  • Coordinate with kitchen, music, media, facilities, and housekeeping teams as needed.
  • Serve as liaison to outside support groups for Adults 55+ and Caring Ministry.
  • Follow up on new member information from Connecting Ministry.
  • Update member profiles in Rock, including addresses and care details.

The Caring and Prayer Ministry Assistant provides administrative support for the congregational care ministry of a large membership, multi-campus church with specific emphasis on Pastoral Care and Prayer Ministry. This role works in collaboration with central staff and in alignment with The Woodlands Methodist Church’s mission to reach people for Jesus Christ, disciple them in faith, and help those in need.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Create a culture where volunteers love to serve by recruiting, coaching, equipping, and empowering a full team of volunteer leaders for Caring Ministry.
  • Communicate neatly and concisely via phone, email, and text to serve the congregation in scheduling appointments.
  • Assist those in need by referring them to an outside organization, one of TWMCs Pastors, or a counseling center.
  • Respond to non-emergency answering service calls.
  • Distribute birth and death announcements, along with sympathy cards and grief booklets to members as needed.
  • Liaison between church and families experiencing loss and grief.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and support funeral and memorial services as needed.
  • Communicate with staff, funeral pastoral care team, and funeral homes of upcoming funerals.
  • Collaborate with families in gathering information and creating funeral bulletins.
  • Assist in organizing Caring Appreciation lunch and Prayer Shawl appreciation events.
  • Facilitate Senior Adult Fitness kickoff event in January at The Woodlands campus including purchasing gifts and snacks.
  • Assist with prayer ministry coordination, administrative oversight of ministry, and meeting preparations for weekly prayer groups, including purchasing materials, room reservations, and coordination of room set-up.
  • Create events for classes, memorial services, inurnments, and groups using FMX.
  • Update and review FMX as needed.
  • Create program registrations, update member profiles in Rock church management system.
  • Track hospitalizations, cancer, hospice, physical rehab, homebound, etc.
  • Run reports as requested for Administrative Board.

  • Coordinate, collect, organize, and distribute weekly prayer list to submit to pastors and MailChimp prayer members.
  • Prepare artwork and submission for quarterly postcards to members.

Ministry Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of Caring Ministry, providing prayerful leadership and supervision to the Prayer Ministry Assistant and Adults 55+ Ministry Assistant.
  • Recruit, coach, equip, and support volunteer leaders to cultivate a strong serving culture.
  • Serve as primary contact for congregational care needs, including communication, scheduling, and referrals to pastors, counseling centers, or external agencies.
  • Maintain relationships with outside support groups and community partners, including sharing job resource information.
  • Oversee Caring and Prayer Ministry budgeting, including processing receipts and monitoring monthly reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Caring Ministry pastors.

Event and Funeral Coordination

  • Coordinate ministry events, classes, memorial services, inurnments, and support groups using FMX and internal scheduling processes.
  • Serve as liaison to families experiencing loss and coordinate funeral logistics, materials, bulletins, communications, and collaboration with staff (kitchen and facilities), pastors, and funeral homes.

Data and Communication Management

  • Manage program registrations, member profiles, and care-related tracking (hospitalizations, hospice, rehab, homebound, etc. in Rock.
  • Submit content to Creative Services, maintain website updates, and create ministry communications for grief and support programs.
  • Prepare All Saints slides for Administrative Board meetings.

Grief and Recovery Program Support

  • Order materials, manage room setup, and track attendance for grief support groups.
  • Coordinate special logistics such as poinsettia delivery.
  • Support Recovery Groups with scheduling, communication, and website updates to relay information about Grief Share, Surviving the Holidays, All Saints service, and Loss of Spouse support groups.

The Facilities Technician will monitor the campus for building maintenance items, safety issues, prohibited or concerning behavior of persons throughout the campus, respond to emergency situations to minimize risk and/or loss to buildings, property or persons. This role works in collaboration with central staff and in alignment with The Woodlands Methodist Church’s mission to reach people for Jesus Christ, disciple them in faith, and help those in need.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide a safe environment for staff and visitors of TWMC. This includes:

  • Provide a safe environment for staff and visitors to The Woodlands Methodist Church
  • Coordinate with external contractors, vendors, and other departments to schedule repairs and maintenance services.
  • Monitors, maintains, and performs standard repairs to building electrical facilities and systems; assists licensed electricians with non-technical repairs as appropriate.
  • Monitors performance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems for the facility; performs standard repair/replacement of components, as appropriate, and non-technical maintenance tasks such as cleaning of heating and cooling fan coil units and adjustment of system controls.
  • Monitors and performs non-technical maintenance of plumbing systems, to include standard repair of leaking fixtures, cleaning obstructed waste lines, installing water coolers, and/or performing non-technical modifications to plumbing and water supply systems; assists licensed plumbers, as appropriate.
  • May perform general maintenance, custodial, and trash removal tasks.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

TWMS Athletics Coach will guide our student athletes and teach them the correct way to participate in sports. This position will study the rules, techniques and other technical aspects of a game. TWMS Athletics Coach will formulate training plans and look at areas such as the athlete and team’s performance, nutrition, educational performance at school and issues they may be having at home. A TWMS Athletics Coach will mentor our young athletes in the sport as well as their journey of faith.

The Athletics Coach reports to the Director of Athletics.

SCOPE

Work with and supervise students participating in before and after school Eagle Club. Students will be engaging in art, recreation, games, playground activities and self-directed homework.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be available for a shift from 7:15 - 8:30 a.m. and / or 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. on any/all days Monday – Friday. Days/schedules are flexible, but dependability is critical.

The Woodlands Methodist School is currently seeking candidates for substitute positions. The Woodlands Methodist School (TWMS) is a ministry of The Woodlands Methodist Church. Positions are available at the Elementary School as well as Middle School. Candidates should specify whether they would prefer to substitute at the Elementary School or Middle School.
