The Community Coordinator – ESP helps members live out their faith in acts of service to/with members of the ESP community. This role works in collaboration with central staff and in alignment with The Woodlands Methodist Church’s mission to reach people for Jesus Christ, disciple them in faith, and help those in need.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate Sunday Morning and Special Worship Services
    • Coordinate Sunday Morning and Special Worship Services
    • Greet first time visitors, take weekly attendance
    • Assist in weekly worship planning, set-up and execution
    • Plan baptisms and communion ensuring supplies are stocked and volunteers are available
    • Recruit and train volunteers for counting team, communion, and memorial team
  • Coordinate Program Ministries
    • Liaison with multiple teams and contacts for various needs for regular services and special events (Food Services, barista, donuts, meal trains, craft circle, etc.)
    • Promote and plan churchwide events throughout the year
    • Send out weekly bulletins, maintain Connection Point, social media, website.
  • Coordinate Prayer and Care Ministries
    • Pray with those in need, make hospital and homebound visits
    • Manage prayer team and care team
    • Meet with families to plan memorial services
    • Contact members on birthdays and notable anniversaries
  • Manage Business Operations
    • Plan annual budget, audit monthly ledgers, provide budget information to ministries
    • Serve as emergency contact for ESP
    • Order and manage supplies for office and events
  • Maintain Campus Membership
    • Coordinate and host campus events, including personal invitations
    • Maintain member and visitor database

The Connecting Ministry Coordinator plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and engaging church environment by recruiting, training, and coordinating servant volunteers who support the Connection Point information desk, Greeting, Membership Hosts, and Parking Lot/Shuttle ministries. This role includes new member activation, event coordination, volunteer appreciation, data tracking and reporting through the ROCK database system. With a heart for hospitality and an eye for administrative detail, the Connecting Ministries Coordinator ensures that every guest and member feels seen, valued, and connected to the life of the church while demonstrating The Woodlands Methodist Church’s (TWMC) mission to Reach People for Jesus Christ, Disciple Them in Faith and Help Those in Need.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Servant Volunteer Engagement and Scheduling

  • Build and maintain strong, Christ-centered relationships with colleagues, servant volunteers, and ministry team leaders
  • Recruit, onboard, and train servant volunteers for the following ministries:
    • Connection Point
    • Greetings
    • New Member Hosts
    • Parking Lot Ministry (Golf Carts / Shuttle Buses)
  • Coordinate weekly volunteer schedules, ensuring all shifts are filled and supported
  • Collaborate closely with Greeter Serve Team Lay Leader to support scheduling (Signup Genius), recruitment, and encouragement of greeters across the main Woodland campus building
  • Identify, train, support Connection Point Serve Team Lay Leader(s)
  • Identify, train, support New Member Hosts Serve Team Lay Leader(s)
  • Identify, train, support Parking Lot/Shuttle Bus Serve Team Lay Leader(s)

New Member Activation and Communication (central staff)

  • Assist with welcoming and activating new members into the life of the church
  • Create new member, adult and confirmand, welcome letters and envelopes for the Senior Pastor’s signature
  • Develop and distribute weekly New Member Report to Ministry staff
  • Ensure email templates and webspace links are up to date for digital communication
  • Support new members in taking next steps (small groups, Sunday school, serving)

ROCK Data Management (central staff)

  • Learn and proficiently use the ROCK database system to:
    • Track attendance of weekly servant volunteers across all campuses
    • Input and maintain accurate volunteer servant records
      • Provide guidance for key contacts on all campuses or worshipping communities
    • Generate reports for staff and/or ministry teams as needed
  • Daily monitor the Connections tab within ROCK
    • Call and email guests interested in membership, baptism, or connecting
      • Transfer where appropriate to other campus connectors/coordinators
    • Document profiles of all actions taken

Event Planning and Execution

  • Plan and execute New Member events (2-3 per year), including coordination with pastors, ministry fair representatives, hospitality, and guest follow-up
    • Learn and use the ROCK registration process
  • Organize volunteer appreciation events, including planning themes, meals, recognition gifts and communication
  • Create an atmosphere of hospitality, appreciation and excellence

Central Staff Support

  • Understand and implement strategies for membership journey and volunteer servant leadership
  • Be a liaison for other campuses or worshipping communities as needed
  • Assist the Connections Director as needed

The Early Childhood Ministry Lead supports the development of a dynamic ministry for children ages three through kindergarten. In collaboration with the NextGen Kids Lead Shepherd and in alignment with The Woodlands Methodist Church’s (TWMC) mission to win people to Jesus Christ, disciple them in faith, and help those in need.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide essential support for the overall function of the early childhood ministry, age three through kindergarten.
  • Plan and execute the teaching of Sunday morning programming.
  • Support creating a culture where volunteers love to serve by assisting the Lead Shepherd and volunteers in conducting their mission and programs.
  • Oversee administrative and operational needs of the early childhood ministry, freeing the Lead Shepherd to provide pastoral leadership and care for volunteers and children.
  • Collaborate with the leaders and volunteers in conducting the mission, goals, and values of Next Gen Ministries and The Woodlands Methodist Church (TWMC).
  • Support the Lead Shepherd and the NextGen Ministry team in developing a unified approach to children’s ministry.
  • Collaborate with the Special Blessings team to support families of kids with special needs.
  • Provide guidance to interns on Sunday mornings.

TWMS Athletics Coach will guide our student athletes and teach them the correct way to participate in sports. This position will study the rules, techniques and other technical aspects of a game. TWMS Athletics Coach will formulate training plans and look at areas such as the athlete and team’s performance, nutrition, educational performance at school and issues they may be having at home. A TWMS Athletics Coach will mentor our young athletes in the sport as well as their journey of faith.

The Athletics Coach reports to the Director of Athletics.

The Woodlands Methodist School is currently seeking candidates for substitute positions. The Woodlands Methodist School (TWMS) is a ministry of The Woodlands Methodist Church. Positions are available at the Elementary School as well as Middle School. Candidates should specify whether they would prefer to substitute at the Elementary School or Middle School. Substitutes help to provide the best possible learning environment for children while their teacher is not in the classroom. The experienced substitute will be knowledgeable about educational resources and dedicated to lifelong learning.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Each substitute must be a high school graduate; a bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Teaching certification is a strong plus
  • Experience working with children is preferred
  • Excellent classroom management skills preferred
  • An interest in learning about working with children
  • Must be committed Christians comfortable sharing their faith with children and families
  • Must successfully pass background check requirements; which include fingerprinting and an extensive criminal history search

JOB DUTIES

  • This position requires someone that is committed to the growth of students
  • Reliable to be in the classroom the entire time while the teacher is out
  • Easily build rapport with students, other teachers and parents
  • Be available to substitute a minimum of four times a month for staff, keeping school informed of availability
  • Follow daily plans in keeping with the school’s developmental philosophy
  • Provide feedback/update the classroom teacher at the end of the day
  • Work directly with children to meet individual needs
  • Cooperate with the Director(s) and other staff in those activities involving the whole program
  • Meet school requirements for in-service training and professional growth
  • Cooperate and clarify expectations with any co-worker who may be assigned to the class
  • Perform other duties as needed

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
