CHILDREN’S MINISTRY: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - VOLUNTEERS

This support position works in conjunction with all areas of Children’s Ministry and is responsible for onboarding, communicating with, and supporting the Children’s Ministry (ages three – sixth grade) volunteers. This includes weekly Sunday School and special programs associated with the Children’s Ministry Department. The Volunteer’s Assistant works collaboratively with the Children’s ministry staff to cultivate an environment where people are inspired to serve in ways that match their spiritual gifts and passions. The Volunteer’s Assistant will partner with Directors and Associate Directors to assure that potential volunteers are aware of policies relating to their station, have a current background check, and feel appreciated throughout he year. This will support our goal that all programs are of the highest quality possible and consistent with the mission and vision of The Woodlands United Methodist Church and that volunteers, families and children are served with respect and dignity. The Volunteer’s Assistant also supports the Special Blessings Ministry in this capacity.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Spiritual maturity, creativity, high energy and a strong passion to lead children and families to a deeper understanding of the Gospel message of Christ’s love!

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY: EARLY CHILDHOOD MINISTRY LEADER - MAIN BUILDING

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong, growing Christian with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and able to share Christ’s love with others.
  • Teaching certificate and/or experience working with preschool aged children preferred.
  • Attend and participate in Early Childhood ministry staff meetings, departmental meetings and all church staff chapels and meetings.
  • A strong understanding of Sunday morning curriculum is preferred.
  • Help recruit, train and appreciate volunteers.
  • Communicate and work with all church staff, volunteers, interns and parents.
  • Knowledge of the Bible and ability to retell bible stories developmentally appropriate for preschool aged children.

JOB DUTIES

  • Oversees Main Building high school intern program including training and scheduling.
  • Leads curriculum planning, implementation, and modification for Elementary aged children with final approval from the Associate Director of Elementary Ministries.
  • Leads curriculum planning, implementation, and modification for preschool aged children with final approval from the Associate Director of Early Childhood Ministries.
  • Offers support to the Associate Director of Early Childhood Ministries for coordination and communication of Sunday School volunteers.
  • Submits supply and resource needs to be filled by administrative assistant.
  • Helps prepare craft and hands-on learning activities each week.
  • Record Sunday school lessons to be delivered virtually.
Program Involvement / Sunday Mornings
  • Lead children 3 years old through kindergarten in a large group and small group settings at the Main campus.
  • Implement and deliver a developmentally aged appropriate curriculum, activities and resources.
  • Work with and assist the Early Childhood interns and volunteers on Sunday mornings to meet Ministry goals.
  • Greet parents and volunteers and assist with child check-in process.
  • Collect first time guest information and volunteers and submit to administrative assistant.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY: INTERN

This is a part-time position with no benefits created for high school students age 16 or older.

Shift schedules include Sundays and/or Saturday nights and Children’s Ministry-sponsored events serving children ages 3-12 years of age.

JOB DUTIES

  • Greet families and students as they arrive on Sundays and events.
  • As an intern your primary focus is to help ensure that every child is greeted, encouraged, interacted with and engaged in program activity.
  • Help set up and lead Sunday School, events, crafts, activities and clean up.
  • Support Ministry Directors and Ministry Leaders.
  • Arrive and Sign in on time for scheduled shifts.
  • Behavior in the community and your online presence must be compatible with values and beliefs of our church. Your online social networks should be accessible to CM Staff.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

Strong interpersonal skills, enjoy children, role model for young children and a growing Christian that feels comfortable sharing their faith with others. Creative artistic talents in music, drama and art a plus.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY: SATURDAY NIGHT MINISTRY LEAD

The Saturday Night Ministry Lead role has been designed to give children a consistent adult staff presence in the Loft Children’s Ministry on Saturday nights, while providing the right tone and environment for learning. The Saturday Night Ministry Lead is responsible for having a dedicated weekly focus on sharing biblical truths about Jesus Christ in a fun and exciting way.

The Saturday Night Ministry Lead serves the Saturday night Loft serve from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparing the classroom/learning area on Saturday nights
  • Providing direction to volunteer and intern team
  • Welcoming children and families as they arrive
  • Take attendance and offering
  • Lead large group learning
  • Reinforcing and facilitating small group activities
  • Concluding the lesson and dismissing students
  • Clean up the environment

The Saturday Night Ministry Leader serves on Saturdays from 5:00 - 7:15 p.m. Curriculum is provided; Saturday Night Ministry Leader is simply presenting the prepared lesson weekly. Arrangements can be made if Ministry Leader needs to miss an occasional Saturday night. The position is based on a weekly stipend and assumes a minimum of 46 Saturdays per year; no health benefits are provided.

The ideal candidate is high energy, loves kids, enjoys being on a stage on a mic, and is gifted in teaching about the Lord. Candidates will work directly with the Elementary Team (grades 1-4). Candidates will be asked to participate in a Saturday night experience as part of the interview process .

CREATIVE SERVICES: GRAPHIC DESIGNER


The Woodlands United Methodist Church is seeking a talented graphic designer for the purposes of visually communicating our mission and ministries to a wide variety of audiences. JOB DUTIES

  • Create engaging content in a timely manner that is on brand and furthers our mission
  • Assist in the creative development of major projects, weekend series, events, etc.
  • Help develop promotional content for marketing campaigns, both internal and external
  • Support the design needs of worship venues, ministries, and initiatives
  • Print, trim, paste, fold, and label printed materials as assigned
  • Assist with installation of large format graphics in display areas when needed
  • Has a working knowledge of print production, video production, and motion graphics, at least enough to collaborate and design for those purposes

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant college degree and three to five years experience in a creative, professional environment required
  • Proficiency in Adobe CS software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat) is required.
  • Macintosh platform experience required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software preferred.
  • Experience with animation software such as Adobe After Effects is preferred.
  • Photography skills are preferred.

  • Capture, edit and produce videos for ministry events and promotion
  • Animate for series bumpers, stories, social media, and miscellaneous projects
  • Maintain and organize studio and equipment
  • Assist in maintaining video archive

  • Collaborate with a team to budget, cast, scout, and produce work as needed

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 – 5+ years experience in film/video
  • Animation experience (After Effects, Cinema 4d, 3d Max).

FACILITIES: THE CHURCH AT WOODFOREST FACILITIES TECHNICIAN


Responsible for performing maintenance and ensuring the effective daily operations for The Woodforest campus. This includes ensuring the safety of our building, prohibited or concerning behavior of persons throughout the campus, responding to emergency situations to minimize risk and/or loss to buildings, property or persons.

JOB DUTIES

  • Provide excellent customer service for all persons on campus and do so in a professional, courteous way.
  • Maintain a constant awareness of people and events happening on campus
  • Maintain all areas of the building daily to ensure it is clean, sanitized and set up (this will include all restrooms).
  • Perform all custodial/maintenance duties for the building that will include, but is not limited to, small painting assignments, changing light bulbs and assisting at special events
  • Ensure all entrances are cleaned and ready to open
  • Maintain and prepare Coffee as needed.
  • Assemble furniture
  • Report and log all maintenance items and keep a record on site
  • Control inventory of tools in workroom
  • Assure safe operation of trailers and equipment

  • Oversee work performed by outside contractors, including housekeeping
