Confirmation is an important step in your child’s personal faith journey, preparing them for a life of discipleship and Christian service. Our Confirmation program gives incoming sixth graders the opportunity to explore the Christian faith, make it their own and prepare to become full members of the church.
The Confirmation journey follows the school-year calendar, beginning in August and ending in May. Throughout the year, students move through three phases: Roots, which builds an understanding of God’s Word and the biblical narrative; Grow, which focuses on personal discipleship and worship; and Thrive, which encourages students to serve others and advance the kingdom of God.
Students are placed in small House groups where they learn and grow alongside other confirmands, parents, adult leaders and high school student leaders. Through biblical teaching, prayer, discussion, activities and meaningful relationships, students develop a strong spiritual foundation and learn how to live out their faith.
The Confirmation experience also includes worship attendance, Scripture memory, devotional Bible study, service projects, a Confirmation retreat and regular Sunday sessions. Students who have not yet been baptized will have an opportunity to be baptized before Confirmation Sunday in May.
