Rev. Jonah Robson

Pastor of Next Gen Students & Young Adults

Rev. Jonah Robson serves as pastor of Next Gen Students and Young Adults at The Woodlands Methodist Church, providing pastoral leadership for students from middle school through young adulthood. He joined the church staff in March 2022 and was ordained as a deacon in the Global Methodist Church in June 2024.

Originally from Rose Hill, Kansas, Jonah began his college journey studying biochemistry with plans to pursue medicine. During his junior year, however, he sensed a clear calling from the Lord into vocational ministry. His ministry formation has been shaped through worship leadership, campus ministry and missions, including a formative summer in 2019 at The Woodlands Methodist Church—his first connection to the congregation.

Jonah has a deep passion for students and young adults and believes this season of life is uniquely formative for faith. Having given his life fully to Christ at age 17, he is committed to walking closely with the next generation as they discover their identity, purpose and calling in Jesus. His pastoral approach emphasizes belonging, intentional discipleship and holiness. He often says that before God will trust a ministry with more students, leaders must first know their names.

Jonah’s vision for Next Gen ministry is rooted in a rhythm of being formed by the presence of God and sent out on mission—into schools, families, the church and the world. He is passionate about raising up leaders who see their vocation, whether in ministry or the marketplace, as a place to faithfully live out the mission of Christ.

Outside of ministry, Jonah enjoys being outdoors, hiking, paddleboarding, making music and discovering great coffee shops—often alongside students. He values shared life and everyday moments as meaningful spaces for discipleship and relationship.
