VOTE PASSES TO JOIN THE GLOBAL METHODIST CHURCH
Following a churchwide vote of 2,110 TWMC members, the resolution to join the Global Methodist passed by 96%.
The vote far exceeds the required threshold of 66.67% needed to join the GMC and makes The Woodlands Methodist Church the single largest church to join the new expression of traditional Wesleyan Methodism.
Following the vote, Senior Pastor Mark Sorensen commented, “This vote affirms what we already know to be true about The Woodlands Methodist Church: Though we are many people, gathered across generations and worship expressions and community groups, we are united in one vision and one clear mission as a church! Thank you for believing in my leadership and in my vision for advancing our ministries that will be mutually beneficial for The Woodlands Methodist Church and the Global Methodist Church.”
Sorensen went on, “With this vote behind us, we are truly able to move forward in faith. I couldn’t be more excited or expectant for our next season of ministry together as a member congregation of the Global Methodist Church.” Watch pastor Mark’s post-vote video message here.
